Dr.
McWilliams is a fellowship trained fertility specialist and
he chose to remain in solo practice in Houston, Texas so that he
might maintain close relationships with each of his couples. When
you review Dr. McWilliams biography you will learn the extent of
his "real world" training and clinical experience in treating
infertility.
Our
fertility treatment staff is
made up of compassionate individuals dedicated to helping couples
achieve their goals of creating families. We understand the many
physical and emotional challenges that infertile couples face. We
realize that infertility treatment
necessarily involves treatment protocols that seem regimented but
we also believe that each couple must be treated as individuals.
Fertility
patients will never "feel like a number" at our fertility
clinic as we go to great lengths to provide infertile couples with
the private, individualized, and compassionate care that they deserve.
Dr. McWilliams personally sees every patient at each office visit
and is always available to answer any questions. All of our fertility
treatment staff has extensive experience working with infertile
couples and never looses site of the ultimate goal of helping couples
conceive. We see patients who were treated at other practices and
they often comment on how they feel much more "at ease"
and comfortable with our staff.
Dr.
McWilliams has extensive "first hand" experience working
in clinics of all sizes. He quickly discovered that he could not
provide the level of interpersonal care he desired in large group
practices. One of the reasons he chose to practice fertility treatment
in Houston is that he could control the size of his practice so
that he, or his patients, never feel "rushed". Fertility
treatments are often complex and patients must be active participants
at each stage of care. Extensive counseling by Dr. McWilliams and
his staff insures that couples are properly educated, which also
reduces stress often associated with treatment.
Fertility
treatment centers can grow too large requiring many patients to
simultaneously undergo routine procedures, such as ultrasound and
estradiol measurements. Twenty or 30 patients may be scheduled for
their 7 a.m. ultrasound and estradiol measurements and there is
rarely an opportunity to see their primary physician. Dr. McWilliams
is directly involved with all aspects of his patients' treatment.
This allows him to closely monitor each patient's progress and assess
factors such as the emotional, physical, and financial strain that
can result from fertility treatments.
Our
fertility nurses are highly skilled and have extensive experience
helping couples achieve their goals of creating families. IVF
patients are in constant contact with our nurses who communicate
important information such as FSH dosage adjustments. They are committed
to engendering the feeling that patient questions are encouraged
and go to great lengths to provide answers in a timely manner.
We
utilize a Ph.D., HCLD, Certified embryologist to insure high IVF
fertilization and implantation rates. He has extensive experience
in most areas of micromanipulation including ICSI, assisted hatching
and blastocyst transfer. Successful performance of theses procedures
requires knowledge, dexterity, and clinical experience. We are fortunate
to have an embryologist that meets and exceeds these criteria.
